End of the holiday
Well we had one day left in London before making the great trek home.
Rob and the girls went off to the city for the day, Tony & I went off to the local village to find a suitcase! Yep we had bought so many souvenirs that we had to purchase another suitcase. Not just any suitcase but a large, huge, carry all, type of suitcase! It took me most of the day to pack and repack our many jumpers, jerseys, jackets, shoes, socks (that we seemed to find on the last day!) and of course tea towels, magnets, mugs, cups, teddy bears and even a packet of rissoto!
We headed off at about 8pm Friday night and arrived home 7:30 Sunday morning. We don't plan on flying anywhere any time soon.
We were of course stopped by customs! Kell had had an apple in her backpack and the sniffer dog felt a need to 'dob' us in. What made matters worse was they asked if we had any foodstuff in our suitcases and I said no! The damn rissoto! Thank goodness they targeted just that bag and unpacked it -&^%#&Y P(*YP(*&H^$*^$. We got a slap on the wrists and off we went.
The next day I left Rob and the girls at home, in unbelievable heat, and went off to work. What a goose I was. I've now had shingles for 10 weeks - so to all of you that may be planning on trekking around the world. Upon your return - Do Not Go Back to Work!
Not a great end to a memorable holiday, but we shall do it all again one day!
I can hear the horror in Graham & Chris's voices - don't worry we'll book into a hotel!
