November 2007 - Jenny & Rachel
Well it was just as well that we didn't travel anywhere else before Jen and Rach arrived!!!! By the time they left we were knackered! (in a good way!)
I had the best surprise ever when Janny Laudin announced that she was coming over for a visit. At the last minute a friend of hers decided to make the trip with her and the 2 of them travelled around abit before ending up with us for 10 days.
Well they were quite unlucky as every where they went, from Sydney to Cairns, they managed to break the longest drought that Australia has ever had! Who do we have to thank - yep Jen & Rach! Most of the state is still flooding!!!!! Good on ya gals!!!!!
From the moment they arrived we laughed and talked non stop. What was truly wonderful was the fact that Jen hasn't changed abit. For all I knew the 2 of us could have been sitting in the backyard at 102a Palliser Rd or Dolphin caravan park in Ballito. It was just so wonderful sitting back relaxing and reminiscing about our family.
I am quite used to not having any feedback from Rob, Cait and Kell about Richie. They just never really knew him, he lived in New York and that was just the way it was.
So it was truly great to hear Jen mention Richie!!!
Now don't get me wrong this was not all we did! We managed to fit in a lot of eating and perhaps for some ............... alot of drinking! A bit of sight see-ing and oh soooooo much shopping. The 2 ladies were happy to spread their holiday pounds around the shops of Brisbane, Caloundra, Eumundi markets and I think a bit was spent in Montville too!
We went up to Caloundra for about 5 days and the visitors loved it. The weather wasn't perfect but the sun shone enough for us all to have a few swims and for the visiting Poms to head home with a tan.
The one day was a bit dreary and not really beach weather so we decided to head out to the mountains, maybe go for a walk to the waterfalls. Well we never made it out of the main street - we hit the shops and thats where we stayed!
Now sadly I don't have any photo's from this wonderful break. Our camera has shut down and we don't know why and dear Jennifer and darling Rachel have not sent me any photo's (as they promised they would).
BUT
watch this space as hopefully one day I will be able to down load a few beauties!
